A huge thank you to the Ottawa Paramedic Peer Support team, as well as our colleagues in the police and fire services, for hosting a highly successful Clinicians Event on February 28th at the Paramedic HQ. The event was a great success, with over 80 participants in attendance! A special appreciation goes out to all the first responders for their involvement in organizing and making this event a positive experience.
The event provided an invaluable opportunity for participants, counsellors, psychologists, and physiotherapists to better understand the challenges, work environment, and daily responsibilities of paramedics, police officers, firefighters, communications officers, equipment and supply technicians, and support staff. This insight will help those in attendance better assist and support our first responders during times of need.
Looking ahead, we are excited to announce the following 2025 Clinicians Event, which will take place in the fall and will be hosted by the Ottawa Fire Department. The focus will again be on helping participants understand the roles of paramedics, police officers, firefighters, and other first responders, strengthening the support we can provide in critical situations.
