The Ottawa Black Bears, Ottawa’s pro Lacrosse team playing in the NLL (National Lacrosse League), are teaming up with the Ottawa First Responders Foundation to support First Responders in our community!

The results are in! Together, we were able to raise $27,941.10 towards the mental health of Ottawa’s First Responders and their families!

Through their Family Fun Day Fundraiser and the sale of Kids’ Cards, Boston Pizza Orléans was able to raise $5,565 for Ottawa First Responders and their families!

Ryan McEachran - As a sworn member of the Ottawa Police, Ryan is motivated to give back to a community that has supported him personally and professionally. He is committed to improving First Responder mental health, increasing awareness and access to services, and strengthening personal resilience – believing strongly in Ottawa First Responders Foundation programs and collaborative mission.

Sylvie Sarault - Sharon brings a career dedicated to the philanthropic sector, where she has championed initiatives that strengthen communities and foster resilience. She serves as a Vice President within the sector, leading efforts that advance organizational growth and impact. Her perspective is deeply personal – shaped by her own service in the hospital during the pandemic while her husband served with the Ottawa Police. She recognizes that many First Responders struggle silently with trauma and stress, and believes that organizations like the Ottawa First Responders Foundation are essential in supporting them.

Sharon Cardiff Rowan - Sharon shares a deep appreciation for First Responders – inspired by her own service in the hospital during the pandemic, while her husband served with the Ottawa Police. She recognizes that many First Responders struggle silently with trauma and stress, and believes that organizations like the Ottawa First Responders Foundation are essential in supporting them. Her family is profoundly grateful for the vital role First Responders play in keeping our communities safe.

Gwen Lewis - During her experience in Emergency Services, Gwen witnessed first hand the gaps both in our health care system and benefit packages. She met individuals who wouldn't seek or continue treatment because they didn’t have the means to afford it – impeding their ability to lead a fulfilling life. Gwen seeks to form change, and assist the First Responders who need it most.
