"Having retired early with what I now know was PTSD, I am very thankful that after 21 years of retirement I was able to get into this program."
Ralph L., Retired Ottawa Firefighter on counseling received through Ottawa First Responders Foundation

The Ottawa First Responders Foundation (OFRF) aims to support programs and services that foster resilience, decrease suicide and increase the quality of life in the first responder family. By sourcing stable funding, creating a standardized and unified group, providing education within the first responder community, mental health in first responders will thrive.

Thank you to all donors for your support of Ottawa First Responders Foundation. You are making a difference in the lives of those who put their physical and mental health on the line for their community. You can continue to support OFRF through a one-time donation or by setting-up monthly contributions.

Spotlight on OFRF
Board member Gerry Pingitore

The Ottawa First Responders Foundation board of Directors is made up of retired and active police, fire, and paramedic personnel and partners who donate their time to support the mental health of their peers, colleagues, family, and friends.

This issue’s Board Director spotlight is on Gerry Pingitore, retired chief of the Ottawa Fire Service. Over the 42 years of service, Pingitore became deeply invested in the overall wellbeing of his fellow members, and now donates his time and experience to helping fill the gaps in services available through OFRF.
