OFRF provides support for the mental wellness of first responders and their families. Sadly, most assistance is currently reactive, meaning that support is only offered after a traumatic event has taken place. However, we believe that being proactive in helping first responders develop resilience and know when to seek help is a more effective approach.

Research shows that 45% of first responders screen positively for one or more mental health disorders, compared to 10% of the general population. That's why the funding the OFRF provides for therapy is so important. It can make all the difference for someone in need.
